What does Text → outlines do?

It converts live text into vector paths. Do this in two cases: (1) when you want to run boolean operations on lettering (subtract a name from a background, weld letters together) — live text can't be boolean'd directly; and (2) before exporting, if your design uses a TumblerForge font you don't have installed on your own computer — outlining bakes the letters into shapes so they engrave identically in LightBurn, xTool, or any laser software without needing the font. After converting, the text is no longer editable as text, so finish your wording first.
