Simple raised: a wood backer, the ground the trails cover as one wood piece with the contours, trees, signs and names burned in, and every trail welded into one bold raised piece on top (or one piece per difficulty, each in its sign colour). Few, big pieces to glue. Stepped terrain: the ground built up in wood steps from the real elevation, each trail's strip glued to the step it crosses. Engraved: one board, the trails, contours, signs and names all burned in. Printed: full colour on a UV flatbed, every trail in its difficulty colour on a shaded map, then cut to shape.
